GRANT Robert - 1873 - 18/09/1873 – Brusher. Kinneil, George Wilson and Co., Bowness, Linlithgow. He was in the act of drawing a copper needle from a shot which he had charged when for some unexplained reason the shot exploded and fatally injured him. Whether there had been some matches or some inflammable substance in the stemming is not known but careful investigation failed to show anything whatever to account for the explosion.
