QUAYLE Robert (injured) - 1886 - 23/09/1886 – Age 35 – Shaftman. Foxdale (metalliferous). Fall of a stone from the kibble he was sending up. Four and a half weeks off.
QUAYLE William (injured) - 1884 - 02/04/1884 – Age 20 – Miner. Foxdale (metalliferous). Fall of a stone from the side of his stope after blasting. Foot cut. 3 weeks off.
QUAYLE William - 1885 - 21/05/1885 – Age 46 – Trammer. Great Laxey (metalliferous). Unexpected fall of a large stone from the roof of the crosscut in which he was standing.
QUEEN Edward (non-fatal) - 1888 - 09/03/1888 – Miner. Springhill No.1, William Baird and Co., Baillieston, Lanarkshire. Explosion of firedamp.
QUEEN James (non-fatal) - 1889 - 30/05/1889 – Miner. Springbank, Springbank Coal Co., Lanarkshire. Fall of stone.
QUEEN John - 1881 - 14/03/1881 – Age 29 – Collier. North Motherwell No.2, Merry and Cunninghame, Dalziel, Lanarkshire. Fell out of cage while ascending from his work with two others, it was supposed in a fainting fit.
QUIGLEY Stephen - 1885 - 17/08/1885 – Age 30 – Drawer. Douglas Bank, Rose Bridge & Douglas Bank Collieries Co. Ltd., Wigan, Lancashire. Inquest attended. Deceased was coming out with his full tub when he was run into at a cloth door by another drawer who was following, unknown to deceased.
QUIN Bernard - 1887 - 31/05/1887 – Age 18 – Putter. Iveston, Consett Iron Co. Ltd., Leadgate, Co. Durham. While leading pony down a bord it stumbled and fell on him crushing him to death.

QUIN Michael - 1887 - 28/05/1887 – Age 21 – Miner. Udston, Udston Coal Co. Ltd., Hamilton, Lanarkshire. Explosion of gas 73 killed.
QUIN Pat (non-fatal) - 1884 - 16/04/1884 – Collier. Garscube, R Addie and Sons, Maryhill, Lanarkshire. Explosion of firedamp.
QUINAN John - 1885 - 18/06/1885 – Age 20 – Daywageman. Clifton Hall, Andrew Knowles and Sons Ltd., Lancashire. Fatal, great explosion. 178 killed.
QUINE Robert (injured) - 1885 - 19/12/1885 – Age 40 – Miner. Great Laxey (metalliferous). Premature explosion of a charge of gunpowder while he was ramming in the stemming with an iron bar. Corkill says he was ramming in the third or fourth layer of tamping; the other men say that not so much had been put in. He has lost the sight of one eye. 3 injured. Corkhill still unable to work March 1886, the other 2 weeks off.
QUINE Robert - 1881 - 14/04/1881 – Age 40 – Miner. Glenroy (metalliferous), Isle of Man. He fell through a sollar for putting down lines. He was fully aware that the hole was there and he or any of his comrades would easily have covered it over in five minutes.
QUINLAN Thomas (non-fatal) - 1886 - 16/11/1886 – Miner. Drumsmudden, Dalmellington Iron Co., Drongan, Ayrshire. Ignition of shot while stemming it. 2 killed.
QUINN George - 1888 - 05/11/1888 – Age 19 – Putter. Usworth, John Bowes and Partners, Usworth, Co. Durham. Head crushed between timber and tub.
QUINN James (injured) - 1880 - 19/01/1880 – Age 17 – Waggoner. Pendleton, Andrew Knowles and Sons, Ltd., Manchester, Lancashire. 3 hurt. Tubs in which they were riding down the engine brow becoming uncoupled.
QUINN James - 1882 - 22/04/1882 – Age 14 – Driver. Cowpen, Cowpen and North Seaton Coal Co., Cowpen, Northumberland. Head crushed between tub and roof.
QUINN James - 1889 - 28/09/1889 – Age 28 – Shifter. Ushaw Moor, Henry Chaytor, Durham, Co. Durham. Severe injury to spine and broken leg by a fall of band while taking off side coal. Died on the 29th.
