Colliery mothballed March 1993 by British Coal but closed April 1993.

Leased by RJB Mining, re-opened for development 24th January 1994. Began producing coal, w.e. 28th February 1994, with total of 200 men. However it would close for good in 2003.

Incidents: A mine car fell down the shaft and smashed the pit bottom fittings. The pit was stood for several days whilst repairs were carried out. Fortunately there were no injuries. In the 1940s a miner committed suicide by jumping down the shaft.
