Frank Morley is very much alive and well

Hi Fionn,
I have already emailed you but not sure if it sent or not.

I'm just emailing to say that there is a mistake on your site about Frank Morley. There is a photo been sent in from Charles Snarski about the Medallion Presentations 1973, underneath it says Frank Morley deceased, this is incorrect, my father is very much alive and well. If you could correct this that would be great.

Kind regards
Alyson Morley

Ilkeston Rescue Station - My grandad, William Denis Gough, was awarded a medal for bravery
Hi - I live in Australia now but I’m from Nottingham. My grandad, William Denis Gough was awarded a medal for bravery - apparently he was photographed by the Post carrying out the last survivor from a mining fire - not sure where it was - is there any way to track this down? Is there a record anywhere?

Looking For Info To Help Develop An Ilkeston Mines Rescue Centre Heritage Project

Hello
I would be interested to make contact with anyone who might like to help me to develop a heritage project based on the Mines Rescue Centre, Manners Road, Ilkeston, Derbyshire.

In particular, if you could direct me to anyone who still lives locally in the Ilkeston area that has connections to the Manners Colliery or Rescue Centre, that would be great!

Many thanks
Kath Jackson

Is Ray Havil, from 'Ilsun' still alive and kicking

Hi, my name is Brian Draper and I was born and bred in Ilsun`and have lived in Germany since 1968 when I left the Royal Air Force.

I worked at the Derbyshire Miners Holiday Camp Skegness in 1958-59 as a waiter together with Ray Havil and another mate Kenny Taylor. I would be much obliged if you could tell me if he is still alive and kicking. Another big mate of mine was the brother of George Brock-Roy "Mokey " Brock who sadly passed away about 5 years ago. My Dad and my Grandad were Miners at Cossal Colliery as were most of the relatives on my Dads side of the Family.

Glad I found your web site

Keep up the good "wok".

All the best, Brian Draper

Mining Trip, Ilkeston Mines Rescue Station

Hi There,
I found myself (Michelle Rice) by accident whilst searching the web. I believe that the date should be 1982 as I recall just having started senior school when Tracy and I made this trip. Hope this helps

Michelle
