Firbeck Main Memorial Garden

I’m organising a memorial garden in memory of all the men who worked at Firbeck main and all the men and boys who lost their lives at Firbeck. I worked there as a boy until its closure in 1968 all my family worked there including my late father, my granddad and uncles it as what we called a family pit so u had to work harder than the rest for the sake of the family name. I found the list of the men killed on your site and it is very rewarding and help full may I thank you on behalf of us who are organising this memorial garden.

Thank you
regards Graham Coe
ps I transfer to Manton Colliery up until its closure in 1993

Re: Graham Coe

Dear Mr Taylor,

Graham Coe has asked me to contact you with reference to Firbeck Colliery. We are trying to print off the list of miners who lost their life's at Firbeck Colliery for the memorial garden we are working towards.

Could you please email me the list of names and addresses you have and copies of any photos you have. On the 1st May 2016 we are holding our first fund raiser and we would love for the photos to be on show with all the others we have.

Many thanks for all your help and should you like copies of the photos we have we would be more than welcome to send them to you.

Best regards,

Kath Walker
