Bilston Entry

This feature was designed as part of a new path network with the dual purpose of camouflaging/hiding an above ground concrete access manhole and creating an attractive and informative entrance feature. Whilst, the bollards and information panel have a colliery theme in their appearance the feature wasn’t commissioned or designed specifically as a mining memorial.

New signpost pointing to the Mauricewood Mining Disaster Memorial, just off the
pavement up Mauricewood Road hill.

As you can see some time effort and money, from the council, has also been spent on a new top coating for the path. Certainly a great deal better and much more respectful.
