Thought you might like to know that a new memorial has been erected in memory of the Auchengeich Disaster. Condorrat Residents and Tenants Association, after a long campaign of fund raising have had a wall constructed beside the library as a memorial to the men of the town who died in the disaster of 18 September 1959. Their names are inscribed on a plaque in the centre of the wall, flanked by a plaque in memory of the men from the village who took part in the Radical rising of 1820, and another dedicated to the servicemen who gave their lives in defence of the country.
I append a photograph of the memorial wall.
