I'm looking for a possible mining family case study and wondered if you could help - we're trying to make a piece about children who've followed in their parents footsteps professionally when you wouldn't necessarily expect them to. We're looking at a mountaineer whose own mother Alison Hargreaves died climbing a mountain, and a woman whose Dad was in the RAF and shot down in WWII - she's now joining the Red Arrows.
We're now looking for a third example and were wondering about mining families - maybe a parent who was involved in mining accident - I know there have been several in the East Midlands over the years - and then their child who's gone on to a similar career. Needs to have an East Midlands connection. If you have any ideas from your mining connections or any other suggestions I'd be most grateful.
