Sunk 1842, was 487 yards deep, Langton closed in 1966 but one of the shafts was kept open for pumping mine water out of up until the late 80's when pumping was taken over at nearby Bentink and then Langton was subsequently demolished. Langton was a feature on the horizon up until demolition as it was adjacent
to the M1 between junctions 27 and 28
